1. What is Photoshop Action?

From Official Photoshop CS2 Help:

“An action is a series of commands that you play back on a single file or a batch of files. For example, you can create an action that applies an Image Size command to change an image to a specific size in pixels, followed by an Unsharp Mask filter that resharpens the detail, and a Save command that saves the file in the desired format.”

2. How to use Photoshop Action Script?

In Photoshop, actions are stored in sets to help you organize your actions.

You just need to copy purchased action file and copy it into the Photoshop action folder in program files.

Follow this steps:

• Your downloaded action file is in zip file. Zip file is a file that combined a group of file into one file called zip. You need to extract the content of zip file in order to use their contents.
• Download 7zip (free – http://www.7-zip.org/download.html ) and install in your PC or Mac.
• Extract the content of your action zip file.
• Copy the action file (usually called with what the action is. If it is a Plastic Text Style 1 action, then most of the time the name for the action file is Plastic Text Style 1). If you are familiar with file extension, action file is with .ATN extension.
• Paste the action file to this directory:
  For Photoshop CS2
  C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS2\Presets\Photoshop Actions
• Open your Photoshop program.
• Go to top menu, click on Window > Action. Or with shortcut key for PC, Alt+F9.
• Notice that a window is open or changing (action is usually with history window.)
• At action window, at the upper right there is a circle button with right arrow inside it. Click on it.
• Select Load Actions…
• A windows is open for you to choose action file from your PC or Mac. Usually it will bring you to action folder by default.
• Select your desire action and click open.
• A new Action will listed in action list.
• Click on an action and click on the play button at the bottom of action windows.
